The Dark Knight Trilogy is getting an Ultimate Collector’s Edition

posterWarner Bros. has just announced one incredible treat for Batman fans, and particularly those who enjoyed the Christopher Nolan series of movies!

On September 24th, the studio will release The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray box set, compiling Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises together in one amazing package! That’s before the myriad special features that the collection will include as well!

All three movies will have their existing special features already available on the standalone Blu-ray releases that have been released already, making this massive bundle six discs total. On top of that, the collection will include: All-new featurettes, exclusive limited edition packaging, a never-before-seen interview with Christopher Nolan and Superman: The Movie director, Richard Donner discussing how they brought DC’s two biggest heroes to the big screen, and, for the first time on home viewing, IMAX aspect ratio for the scenes in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises that were filmed with IMAX cameras.

Of course, tangible collectibles will be included in the package to further sweeten the deal as well: Hot Wheels-made Batmobile, Batpod and Tumbler toys, collectible art cards featuring Scarecrow, Joker, Bane, Two-Face and Ra’s Al Ghul, and an art book featuring production stills and behind-the-scenes images from all three movies!

Needless to say, no avid fan of the Caped Crusader should be without this incredible package! It will set you back a mean $99.97 USD, but we’re certain that the price is well worth it for the Batman faithful, particularly if they skipped out on the home video releases of these movies already!

The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition will be released on September 24th of this year. You’ll have until August 20th to pre-order it. Naturally, Eggplante will be on hand to deliver you all of your Batman news, as it swoops upon us! Until then, we’ll be shadows in the night.
