Sony sells 2.1 million PS4s in November

Sony recently announced that it sold over a million PlayStation 4 consoles in North America within 24 hours of its launch mid-November. Today, Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment announced on the PlayStation.Blog that the console has gone on to sell over 2.1 million units worldwide since also going on sale in the UK, Europe, and Latin America this week.

What might prove to be most interesting is that the figures that House posted are only for November, and given that the new territories that just received the PS4 (30 in total) only launched on November 29th, that means the US and Canada accounted for a heck of a lot more sales, or that the console is selling like hotcakes in the other regions.

You can read House’s entire statement below. We await Microsoft’s response and comparable figures from the Xbox One launch.
