CBS renews Survivor for two more seasons

As we are about to find out who wins the latest season of Survivor, subtitled Blood vs. Water, CBS has let everyone know – via their proxy, Jeff Probst, no less – that they have renewed the series for another two seasons, meaning we’ve got at least three more to see.

Season 28 was filmed this past summer and will begin airing on CBS in the spring of 2014, while the following seasons will air next fall and the following spring, taking us all the way to 2015.

Survivor‘s executive producer Mark Burnett has made the following statement about the future of the series:

I am thrilled that our fans get to continue their love affair with SURVIVOR on CBS through 2015. This current season has become one of the most-loved seasons ever and I promise our fans to make season 29 and 30 even better… I LOVE SURVIVOR!!!

Let’s hope the show lasts well beyond its thirtieth season. We love this stuff!
