Lots of movie and television news as Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has now been given some quasi-official release information.
According to Wall Street Journal reporter Ben Fritz, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara has been quoted saying the spin-off will be “at least a trilogy”.
The franchise, originally set to wrap in 2020, could potentially go on past that. The films are set for release in 2016, 2018, and 2020. The original spin-off was a single book, and a thin one at that, so it’ll be interesting to see if the movie is paced properly or if there is a lot of content added from scenes not in the original title.
The trend seems to be going toward the multi-movie treatment, which began with Twilight, The Hobbit, and even the last instalment in the Harry Potter film franchise.
Take a look at Fritz’s tweet about the Potter movies and let us know what you think about the book becoming a trilogy, or potentially longer!
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be "at least a trilogy," says Tsujihara. First 3 movies in 2016, 2018 and 2020
