Jade Raymond departs Ubisoft Toronto

Jade Raymond - Alex Parizeau
Alexandre Parizeau, Ubisoft Toronto’s new Managing Director

After over a decade of working together, Jade Raymond, Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto, has announced that she and the company have “agreed to pursue future opportunities separately,” the French company said in a statement.

Replacing the former Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell Producer is Alexandre Parizeau, a founding member of Ubisoft Toronto, and Producer for the Splinter Cell franchise.

Raymond released a statement about the move, saying “This is one of the hardest decisions of my career, but the Toronto studio is strong and on a solid path. I’m confident that now is a good time for me to transition leadership of the studio to Alex and to pursue my other ambitions and new opportunities.”

She hasn’t divulged what projects she’s moving on to, though with a history of working for multiple gaming companies as well as gaming media, it’s anyone’s guess at this point.

Next week is Raymond’s official last day–October 29th, to be exact–which is when Parizeau will begin his Managing Director duties. He will report directly to Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat.

“On behalf of Ubisoft, I’d like to thank Jade for her leadership and many contributions over the years, and wish her all the best in her next adventures,” Mallat said. “The Toronto studio is a key part of the Ubisoft global network, and Alex has been at the heart of the studio’s growth over the years. He was the obvious choice to lead this talented group of people as they continue to develop amazing games.”

We at Eggplante of course also extend our wishes to Jade Raymond and the Ubisoft teams in their futures.
