Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass announced

In a first for a main-line Zelda title, Nintendo has announced additional content to be available after launch of The Legend of ZeldaBreath of the Wild on March 3rd.

Dubbed the Expansion Pass, this $20 bundle includes two content drops: one in Summer 2017, one following this holiday season. The Summer pack will include a new Cave of Trials challenge, a harder difficulty mode, and a new feature for the in-game map, though the latter is unclear.

The content in Holiday 2017 is going to include a new dungeon, new original story, and additional challenges, though, once again, the description of the new content is quite vague.

Neither of these packages are able to be purchased separately.

Those who purchase the Expansion Pass will also be treated to three unique treasure chests in the Great Plateau area of the game, two of which will hold useful items, while the third will contain … a Nintendo Switch branded tunic for Link to wear along his adventure. No, we’re not making this up.
