In a move that we all want but didn’t actually expect to see, Nintendo has announced a new Metroid title for Switch, and it is indeed titled Metroid Prime 4.

While details are scarce on the project, the new Metroid title does appear to have been in development for a little while leading up to the announcement, and looks to be a true Metroid game rather than last year’s Federation Force which most gamers would rather forget ever had Metroid in its name.

The video teaser just showed a Metroid logo with the number ‘4’ next to it before switching to the Metroid Prime 4 full game logo, though no other details or date was announced.

With any luck, we’ll get more details from the team at Nintendo about this new game at the company’s Treehouse Live @ E3 presentation throughout the week.
