Two years may have passed since we last heard about Pikmin 4, but there’s no need to worry about the project’s status according to Shigeru Miyamoto.
While in conversation with Eurogamer, Miyamoto-san was asked if he could say anything about Pikmin 4, or at least confirm that it’s still in development. In response, he stated that the anticipated sequel remains alive and is still in the works, although he didn’t use those exact words.
“I’ve been told not to share anything about this from PR,” Miyamoto laughed, “but I can tell you it is progressing.”
From the sounds of things, Nintendo is interested in keeping things mum for the time being, until they’re satisfied with the sequel’s quality and are ready to talk about it. For now, fans of the series will have to be happy with Hey! Pikmin, the outsourced 3DS sidescroller that is scheduled to launch on July 28th.
