Here’s nine minutes of gameplay from Life is Strange: Before the Storm

In advance of its upcoming premiere, Square Enix has released a new, nine minute-long gameplay video for Life is Strange: Before the Storm.

Centering on a now brunette Chloe, Before the Storm is an aptly titled prequel that aims to show players what happened before Max returned. Through this, players will control Chloe as she deals with the loss of her father, the addition of her new stepfather, David, and the disappearance of her friend Rachel Amber. This means that we can expect lots of teen angst, some punk rock attitude and more mysterious events to navigate through, not to mention lots of player choice.

This new, nine minute-long look is an edited selection of scenes taken from what appears to be the opening of Episode 1 (Awake). So, if you’re someone who hates spoiling things for themselves, or having others do it for them, then you may want to take a hard pass. However, if you don’t care and simply want to see more from what is shaping up to be one of summer 2017’s most interesting video games, here you go.

The three part Life is Strange: Before the Storm miniseries will hit Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on August 31.
