Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey takes the series to Ancient Greece

Ubisoft Quebec has been hard at work on Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, a brand new iteration of the series, for the last three years. It, as rumoured, will take us to a brand new location, that being Ancient Greece. A land shaped by gods that is struggling with conflict.

At the beginning of the game you’ll get to choose your own character, and will then set out to save your loved ones and become the legendary hero that Greece so desperately needs. Said choice will be between a male (Alexios) or female (Kassandra) assassin.

As you play, the choices that you make will shape the world. You’ll share the bloodline of a legendary spartan hero, and will shape your own odyssey with this in mind. All the while, you’ll be able to interact with history like never before, including talking to and dealing with people like Sokrates. These discussions, and others like them, will also utilize a new dialogue tree system that will make its debut in Odyssey.

Following some cinematic segments, a full, stunning-looking gameplay sequence was shown.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will send us back in time to Ancient Greece on October 5th.
