Funcom’s Conan Chop Chop is a real game, not just an April Fool’s Day joke

Funcom had everyone thinking that Conan Chop Chop was simply a funny April Fool’s Day joke, but that isn’t the case. It’s actually a real, playable game, which will release in a few short months.

Just announced — for real, this time — at E3’s PCGamer Show, Conan Chop Chop is said to be a “hilarious, rogue-like romp through Hyboria.” One that will offer four player couch co-op, challenging boss encounters and hack n’ slash gameplay. That, as well as a diverse cast to suit any play style, a diverse world to explore, lots of loot to collect, “astonishing combos” and “infinite replayability.”

“Keeping this a secret has been a hardship,” admits Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “The feedback we got from fans when we released the April Fools’ Day trailer was amazing and remarkably unanimous, and so I have been itching to give them the good news ever since.”

“But don’t be fooled by the game’s humoristic and quirky looks. There is a lot of hard work being put into this, and the game should thrill roguelike fans and hack & slash fans alike,” says Casais.

Conan Chop Chop is targeting a September 3rd release, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
