Microsoft reveals Gears of War 5 themed Xbox One bundles, plus 2TB & 5TB Seagate Game Drives

Just over one month remains before Gears of War 5 will take on the Swarm. In preparation, Microsoft has announced its Gears of War 5 Xbox One X console bundle, which comes with a rather nice-looking controller.

The limited edition Gears of War 5 Xbox One X console bundle bears a wintry theme that ties into the upcoming campaign. It has a white and grey finish, that is accented by laser etched cracks that have a texture to them. This look is enhanced by a black and white Omen symbol, which is made to look as if it’s been submerged in ice and snow. A golden Locust symbol also graces the back.

As is always the case, the console comes with a similarly themed Kait Diaz controller, which has also been coloured, etched and textured to look like it’s spent time under both snow and ice. The controller also has blue accents on its trigger buttons and around its joysticks. It can be purchased separately for $74.99 (USD).

Those who purchase this $499.99 (USD) package will also receive a digital download code for the Gears of War 5 Ultimate Edition, as well as codes to unlock and download all of the series’ previous mainline games. This includes Gears of War Ultimate Edition, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War 4, which is currently available through Xbox Live’s Games With Gold promotion. The spin-off game, Gears of War: Judgment, has been excluded from this for whatever reason.

Also included are Ice Kait and Ice Jack skins, as well as one month subscriptions to both Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass.

This Xbox One X bundle will be released on September 6th, which is four days before Gears of War 5 hits store shelves and digital marketplaces. It will be preceded by a themed controller charging stand ($29.99) on August 27th, and will also be joined by a Gears 5 Xbox One S bundle on release day. That set will cost you $299.99.

A Gears 5 headset will also be released around the same time, and will be flanked by a Razer keyboard and mouse combo, plus a 2TB or 5TB Seagate Game Drive decked out in snowy, Gears of War 5 colours.
