Don’t expect Elder Scrolls VI news for years: Pete Hines

While we certainly didn’t expect to hear anything about The Elder Scrolls VI for a while, SVP of Global Marketing and Communications at Bethesda Pete Hines answered a fan on Twitter regarding the game, much to his dismay.

The title, originally revealed at E3 2018, is going to be famed developer Todd Howard’s game project after the upcoming Starfield.

Hines is quick to point out that, in regards to Starfield, we know pretty much “nothing about.” Since Elder Scrolls VI isn’t coming until after that, Hines jokingly blames himself saying, “if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations.”

Of course, as much as we’d like to see something–anything–from the game soon, this confirms that the Elder Scrolls VI is likely not even under development in earnest, as Howard tends to work on a single project at a time, while perhaps ruminating, at best, on others.

Here’s hoping that we see Bethesda’s Starfield during their game announcements throughout the Summer as part of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, and that Pete Hines continues his hilarious tweets in the process.
