A new entry in Frogwares’ popular Sherlock Holmes series has been confirmed, and it’s in the works for more than just today’s current gen consoles.
Announced earlier today, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One presents a much younger version of the genius detective than we’re used to. In fact, this Sherlock looks to be in his early twenties at most. Thus, the game’s subtitle makes a lot of sense.
According to the blurb under its trailer, Chapter One will feature a young Sherlock with lots to prove, as he attempts to solve the mystery surrounding his mother’s death. Doing so will take him to “an exotic, dangerous island in the Mediterranean.” It’s also mentioned that the gameplay will take the form of a “story-driven detective thriller,” but fans of the series have come to expect that.
Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One isn’t expected to release until sometime in 2021. When it does, it will begin a difficult case on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
