Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions heading to Nintendo Switch

As rumours predicted, two classic Pokémon games from close to the very beginning are heading to Nintendo Switch. That is, Pokemon FireRed Version and Pokemon LeafGreen Version; both of which were confirmed today, although people had spotted them in the shop’s ’Coming Soon’ section.

These 2004 remakes of Pokemon Red and Green provide a chance for fans and newcomers alike to go back in time, and meet the original 151 Pokemon. They can do so in multiple languages, including English, French and Spanish, and can enjoy the original soundtrack.

Those who want to experience the challenges of Kanto again will come face to face with classic gym trainers like Brock and Misty, as well. They’ll also experience all of the Game Boy Advance era updates, like weather, held items, player genders and linking up with friends (through local co-op).

Pokemon FireRed Version and Pokemon LeafGreen Version will be available on the Nintendo eShop, as well as the MyNintendo Store, on February 27th. They will cost $29.99 CAD each.
