A new game from one of the masters of horror is en route, and it’s being handled by Boss Team Games and Saber Interactive.
Revealed today, through press release means, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival marks the return of the renowned author, director and game creator to this particular industry. It also marks the return of Hellraiser, which is based on Barker’s 1986 novella, The Hellbound Heart, and spawned a number of movies. Of course, the most notable being the original film which Barker wrote and directed.
Since then, the series has gone on to spark a shocking number of sequels, most of which were direct-to-video and kind of forgettable, though Inferno was surprisingly decent. Most recently, it was rebooted by a new movie on Hulu in 2022.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival will pit players against the iconic villain, Pinhead, who’s being voiced by original actor Doug Bradley, who returns to the role for the first time in two decades. The game promises “a twisted nightmare,” which blends survival horror with story-focused single player action gameplay. We are thankful that it’s not just another multiplayer horror game.
