Let’s admit it: The Be A Pro mode found in the last several EA hockey games was getting pretty stale. If we had to watch that opening cutscene featuring “expensive pond hockey” again…
Thankfully, the folks at EA Canada and EA Bucharest understood this and decided to make major changes to the mode, which allows players to create a likeness and rise from a rookie to a superstar. Today, they released a deep dive video that shows these alterations in action. It features the San Jose Sharks’ young star, Macklin Celebrini, as well as snowboarder Craig McMorris.
In NHL 26, Be a Pro will feature a chapter based design with high stakes decisions. There will be more emotion, more interesting decisions to make both on and off the ice, higher highs and lower lows. You’ll begin in the World Junior Championship, get to experience seeing your NHL locker for the first time and much more.
Of course, X-Factors will also factor in and make for important choices too. You’ll even risk being sent back to the AHL if you don’t perform — something that didn’t seem possible in recent years.
