The folks behind Assassin’s Creed: Mirage have announced that it has received a major, free, update. One they call Valley of Memory.
“Led by Ubisoft Bordeaux and Ubisoft Paris, Valley of Memory immerses players in 9th century AlUla, a stunning and ancient valley charged with history located in the Arabian Peninsula. This new storyline and setting invites players to uncover the mystery of Basim’s long-lost father while exploring a brand-new playground filled with iconic landmarks such as the old town of AlUla, the Ramm Valley’s remarkable rocky monuments, and the necropolis of Hegra, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This new adventure brings more than 6 hours of gameplay, with a complete narrative arc that complements Basim’s journey from street thief to Master Assassin. It includes new assassination missions, new contracts, new side activities and collectibles, and a brand-new world to discover.“
In addition to the above, Mirage has also received gameplay improvements and added features, including:
- Animus Sequences: Main story missions will benefit from the Animus Sequences, a new system that allows players to replay any contract or assassination mission they have already completed. Players can complete additional challenges in these missions to earn new rewards (outfit, weapons, crafting materials, and even the new Animus Mods, that replenish tools and Assassin focus).
- Parkour: Parkour has also been improved for the most skilled players, with optional moves such as the free jump and height-gaining side and back ejects, complete with a new control scheme.
- Tools and Skills: Basim has new tools and skills to unlock that offer even more gameplay options for players, such as a new skill in the Engineer skill tree that allows to equip all 3 Level 1 upgrades for tools, as well as a new Level 3 upgrade for all tools.
- Difficulty Presets: New difficulty presets are now available, along a vast array of parameters to tweak and fine-tune, such as enemy detection time, stamina consumption or environmental damage.
- AC filters: Alongside the original Assassin’s Creed legacy filter, players can now unlock 4 more filters inspired by AC Origins, AC Unity, AC II and AC Odyssey.
Lastly, Brendan Angelides, who composed the game’s soundtrack, has created 14 new tracks. This includes a new main theme.
