Helldivers 2 – Machinery of Oppression expansion available now

The war for Managed Democracy has escalated as of today, with the release of Helldivers 2’s Machinery of Oppression expansion. It’s a new add-on, which sends Helldivers straight into conflict in the heart of Cyberstan.

“In a critical and unprecedented turn of events, the Cyborgs have returned, colluding with the Automatons after the theft of the Star of Peace schematics. Their objective: mass production and large-scale deployment against Super Earth. Helldivers are now ordered to take the fight directly to the enemy’s industrial strongholds.

New Location: Cyberstan’s Factory Cities

  • Helldivers will drop into the Automaton homeworld and assault massive mega factories, heavily fortified industrial zones powering the enemy war machine. Players must work together at a galactic scale, choosing which cities to dismantle, destroying every structure and eliminating all Automaton resistance in the process. However, the streets of Cyberstan are unforgiving, and a familiar threat awaits.

Old Enemies, New Threats

The Cyborg subfaction introduces three new enemy types:

  • Agitators – heavily armored field commanders capable of controlling Automaton squads and coordinating battlefield tactics
  • Cyborg Radicals – hyper-aggressive frontline units enhanced with extreme cybernetic and biological modifications
  • The Vox Engine – a massive war machine piloted by a high-ranking Cyborg officer, broadcasting propaganda while wielding laser cannons, rockets, and gatling weapons

New Missions & Objectives

The update introduces new mission types focused on:

  • Halting Cyborg production
  • Sabotaging Automaton defensive infrastructure
  • Destroying mega-factories building by building
  • And many more!

Reinforcements & Gear

To support the campaign:

  • The recently released Siegebreakers Warbond offers new defensive equipment, including the G/SH-39 Shield throwable
  • The War Horses armor set is now available via the Superstore

Global Reinforcement Limits

For the first time, the war effort is constrained by a Galactic Reinforcement Counter. Every fallen Helldiver permanently reduces the total number of reinforcements available for the Battle for Cyberstan. If the counter reaches zero, the campaign is lost. Survival, coordination, and defensive play will be critical.“
