When Kena: Bridge of Spirits was announced, it looked beautiful and intriguing. I ended up borrowing it from the library, and beat it that way. In doing so, I discovered that its art style belied how challenging it could be.
During today’s PlayStation Direct showcase, Ember Lab revealed that they’ve been working on a sequel to Bridge of Spirits, called Kena: Scars of Kosmora.
In this follow-up, an older Kena travels to a new land called Kosmora, which is dealing with a dark past. Once there, her staff is broken, and she must use the elements to help her stay alive. This includes elemental spirit companions which travel with you and grow over time. In this game, Kena will need to rely on the elements a lot more, and this is one way.
The game is said to expand on the action, adventure and combat. It will also allow its titular hero to help the living.
Expect to play this one on PC and PS5 later this year.
