Matthew Tkachuk will grace the cover of NHL 26

Ahead of its full reveal on August 6th, Electronic Arts has shared the cover art for NHL 26. As such, we now know who will be the cover athlete for this year’s iteration, following months of speculation within its fan community and the hockey community at large.

The cover athlete for NHL 26 is none other than Florida Panthers star power forward, Matthew Tkachuk, whose father and brother have also played prominent roles in the League. Tkachuk was traded to the Panthers from the Calgary Flames, in a blockbuster trade, and has won the Stanley Cup both of the last two seasons. In fact, he’s pictured with it here.

It’s a sensible choice that is easy to understand, but not ideal for those of us who cheer for a rival team.

NHL 26 will be released this fall. Stay tuned for more.
