Through the issuance of a press release, and an email campaign, EA Sports has begun to share its NHL 26 Team of the Year. Comprised of both NHL and PWHL players, it celebrates the best players in modern hockey.
First up, through today’s announcement, are the forwards:
- Connor McDavid, Center, Edmonton Oilers
- Leon Draisaitl, Forward, Edmonton Oilers
- Nathan MacKinnon, Forward, Colorado Avalanche
- Marie Philip-Poulin, Center, Montreal Victoire
- Hilary Knight, Forward, Seattle Torrent
- Sarah Fillier, Forward, New York Sirens
Fans can also weigh in, and vote for an Honorary Mention player. This can be done before end of day on January 5th. The winner will then be added into the game on the 6th.
NHL Forward Nominees:
- Nikita Kucherov – Tampa Bay Lightning
- David Pastrnak – Boston Bruins
- William Nylander – Toronto Maple Leafs
- Mikko Rantanen – Dallas Stars
PWHL Forward Nominees:
- Kendall Coyne Schofield – Minnesota Frost
- Taylor Heise – Minnesota Frost
- Daryl Watts – Toronto Sceptres
- Laura Stacey – Montreal Victoire
The rest of the NHL 26 Team of the Year (meaning defenders and goalies) will be announced, as well as added into the game, on January 9th at 1pm EST.
