A bevy of Crash Bandicoot announcements from San Diego’s Comic Con

From the floors of the San Diego Comic-Con comes word that Activision and Vicarious Visions aren’t quite done with Crash Bandicoot, and are poised to take full advantage of his return to popularity. Then again, who would’ve expected anything different?

The biggest news in the bunch comes in the form of a new level reveal. That is, Stormy Ascent from the original Crash Bandicoot, which was remastered for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy but didn’t make the cut. Starting today, fans can download that ‘legendary’ level at no cost through the PlayStation Store. Be quick, though, because it seems as if the price tag may rise after thirty days.

In other very related news, Dark Horse Comics is hard at work on a 150 page hardcover book about Crash and his origins. Entitled The Crash Bandicoot Files: How Willy the Wombat Sparked Marsupial Mania, it will release sometime in 2018 and come bearing an original design document and concept artwork.

Last, and most definitely least, is word that Crash now stars in a new emoji app as well as a tailored Loot Crate. So, if you’re into such things, make sure to check them out.
