Microsoft and The Coalition are teaming up to bring Gears of War back in a big way. The highlight of this is Gears of War 5, the massive and now much anticipated sequel that acted as one of the bombshell announcements during Microsoft’s E3 presentation.
Set to release sometime in 2019, Gears of War 5 will centre upon Kait Diaz, who played a notable role in the previous title. Using Kait’s eyes, ears, leadership and gunplay skills, the newly announced sequel will “go back to where it all began” by investigating the mystery surrounding the Locust kind.
Today’s announcement featured a trailer, in which Kait opens up to Marcus Fenix about some disturbing premonitions she’s been having.
This is just the early stages for Gears of War 5, as it’s probably safe to assume that the game won’t release until next year’s holiday season. As such, we’re expecting it to have a big presence at E3 2019.
