Marvel’s Spider-Man comes face-to-face with some of his worst enemies during E3 gameplay trailer

This E3 sent Marvel’s Spider-Man to jail in order to show off some action-packed gameplay from Insomniac’s incredible looking superhero game. The result was something that made it difficult to keep one’s jaw off the floor.

Things began in an offshore jail called the Raft, where Electro was up to no good. The electricity-fueled baddie escapes, complete with a brand new suit, and then begins to cause chaos by letting criminals and other super villains out. This includes Rhino, Scorpion and the Green Goblin, all of whom Spidey comes face-to-face with during the video.

Prior to a worrying conclusion, Spider-Man is tasked with taking out a large group of grunts and does so in impressive fashion, using a spinning web attack that we can’t remember seeing before. During and after this fight, the other super villains come into play, culminating in a scene where Spidey must webswing his away around the jail before running up one of its stacks while electricity is shot down towards him.

Marvel’s Spider-Man will be released on September 7th, and we simply can’t wait to get our grubby hands on it.

Update: Following Sony’s showcase, two members of Insomniac’s team stopped by Sony’s intermission desk to show off more (open world) gameplay from this title. You can see it below:
