Super Mario Party will take advantage of the Switch’s unique capabilities

It’s not surprising that Nintendo would want to release Mario Party on Nintendo Switch, so today’s announcement of Super Mario Party wasn’t a massive shocker. However, the stated ways in which this multiplayer party game will take advantage of the console’s unique capabilities was both surprising and impressive.

The newest version of the iconic board/party game series will allow players to participate using just one single joycon, and will incorporate motion controls as well. Furthermore, the same match can be played on more than one Switch, meaning that folks can break off into teams with each having its own screen to play off of.

Perhaps the neatest thing of all is the fact that — as a previous Nintendo patent outlined — people can link multiple Switches together to create one much larger screen, which will display things based off of console configuration.
