Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer suite to be revealed in August; pre-order now to play as Captain Price

On the first of August, Activision will unveil the multiplayer suite found within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In doing so, they’ll pull away the curtain and share secrets pertaining to what’s next for the venerable first-person shooter franchise.

Promising unified progression across modes, support for crossplay initiatives and the elimination of the series’ traditional season pass in favour of releasing free maps and modes, Modern Warfare aims to improve upon its predecessors.

Earlier today, fans of the series were treated to a live reveal of the new, 2v2 Gunfight mode, through a livestream on Twitch. With its close quarters combat and small teams, Gunfight is just a fraction of the multiplayer content awaiting fans in this year’s title, the press release states.

The full reveal will also take place on Twitch, and one can watch it by visiting Call of Duty‘s official channel on August 1st.

Going further, those who pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will immediately unlock Captain Price as a playable character in Black Ops 4‘s Blackout mode. He’s playable on PS4 as of today, and will come to other platforms on July 18th.
