In shocking news, the cult classic original Xbox exclusive, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse, is being remastered for modern consoles and PC. Yes, you read that right.
On his quest, Stubbs lurches his way through numerous large and visually captivating indoor/outdoor environments in and around the gleaming city of Punchbowl, PA, a city built during the Eisenhower administration to show off the ultra-futuristic technology of the 21st century. Stubbs’ brain-eating adventure brings him through bustling shopping districts and verdant farmlands to battle mad scientists, rural militiamen and the world’s deadliest barbershop quartet.
One of the more unique original Xbox games, Stubbs the Zombie was quite a bit of fun when I sought it out after acquiring the console late in its life cycle. In fact, it was one of the reasons why I wanted an Xbox.
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is currently being remastered for Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch and PC. If you missed it the first time around, try not to do the same this time.
