In a PlayStation.Blog post by Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios, the company has announced that Haven Studios is joining PlayStation Studios, and it will be the first Canadian Studio to join the Japanese publisher’s ranks.

The newly-formed studio, founded almost exactly a year again, in early March 2021, is headed by industry veteran Jade Raymond, who worked to create the Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs franchises while at Ubisoft. Other industry credits include Far Cry 4 and Star Wars: Battlefront II.

Details about the acquisition are sparse other than to say that the PlayStation team is excited to work with Raymond and the Haven Studios team, and that they are working on an ambitious new IP for the console.

No further information was shared about when we might see this ambitious new project, but given this studio’s recent formation, don’t bank on it being anytime soon.
