Extraplanet explorers: Prime Matter has announced that its latest effort, Scars Above, is now available for purchase and exploration on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC. It’ll set you back $39.99.
Developed by Serbia’s Mad Head Games, Scars Above is described as being a “challenging sci-fi third-person adventure shooter.”
Scars Above puts players in the space boots of Dr. Kate Ward as she finds herself abducted then lost on a surreal and dangerous alien world. Players will have to use Ward’s scientific aptitude, wreckage from her ship, and the planet’s local wildlife to survive.
After a colossal and enigmatic alien structure dubbed The Metahedron appears in Earth’s orbit and stuns the entire world, The Sentient Contact Assessment and Response team (SCAR) – consisting of scientists and engineers – is sent to investigate.
Things don’t go as planned and the Metahedron hauls the team across space and onto a mysterious extrasolar planet. It’s here that our protagonist Kate wakes up, alone and on a strange and hostile world. Determined to survive, she sets out to find her crew and unravel the mystery behind what’s happened.
Music producer, gamer and YouTube star, The Dooo, was involved in creating the game’s soundtrack. He composed his own song for it.
