JunkFish reveals dinosaur horror title, Wilderdark

The folks at JunkFish are returning to first person horror, with a new game called Wilderdark.

Announced today, Wilderdark places players on a dinosaur infested island and expects them to try to survive. Players take on the role of a field agent who’s been sent to explore this location, and the mysterious ectoplasm that has corrupted both its dinosaurs and its plants.

“In Wilderdark, players find themselves crash-landed on a hostile island with only minimal resources to survive. Every step matters in this tense and atmospheric world, where stealth is key and even the smallest sound can attract the attention of deadly apex predators. The island is teeming with unfamiliar and dangerous lifeforms, including grotesque, parasite-infected dinosaurs. To uncover the truth, players will need to carefully observe their surroundings, document discoveries through photography, and craft essential tools from whatever they can find. It’s a constant balancing act: use resources wisely, stay out of sight, and think one step ahead of the island’s relentless hunters.”

“We’ve been holding onto Wilderdark as a well-kept secret for over three years, and we’re super excited to finally shine a spotlight on it,” said Ellie Gibbs, Senior Marketing Manager at Junkfish. “After years of quietly building it behind-the-scenes, it feels amazing to share something that marks our return to the kind of horror our community has been asking for. The demo is just the beginning…step in next week and see what’s been lurking in the dark.”

Wilderdark is coming to Steam in 2026. A demo is out now.
