Donkey_kong_tropical_freeze_boxartNintendo of America CEO Reggis Fils-Aime took to the Spike VGX Awards this evening to announce that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is coming to North America on February 21st this year.

He, alongside developer Retro, showed off the game with two new levels, as well as officially announced the playable character Cranky Kong, as was rumoured from earlier in the week.

When asked if we would be seeing any new Metroid games in the near future, Reggie slipped up with an “of course”, though he quickly retracted to saying that anything is possible. He was wearing a pin of Samus Aran from the Metroid series on his lapel.
