Spyro the Dragon - Box ArtWhat’s sweeter than Easter chocolate? Surprise Easter game sales of course!

Sony is continuing this year’s trend of unexpected Flash Sales on various games across their PlayStation devices, but this is perhaps their most bold and ambitious sale to date! Thirty games have had their prices slashed to just $0.99, but only until Monday, April 21st! You don’t even need PlayStation Plus in fact! Even regular PlayStation Network members can enjoy the $0.99 discounts!

Retro gamers in particular had best pay attention, as most of the discounted games are actually original PlayStation and PlayStation 2 Classics that are playable on PlayStation 3 in the case of the latter, and PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita in the case of the former. Unfortunately, no PlayStation 4 games or enabled content are among the discounted wares, though some offerings are dedicated PlayStation Store games for PlayStation 3, and in some cases, PlayStation Vita.

Needless to say, you won’t see games cheaper than a buck, so if you’ve been holding out on any of these thirty games, and are actively interested in them, you officially have no excuse to pass them up at all now!

The $0.99 games are as follows, and in the case of the episodic adventure games by Telltale, all episodes are included for no more than a single dollar:

Back to the Future: The Game – Episodes 1-5 (PS3)
Blast Factor (PS3)
Braid (PS3)
Crash Bandicoot (PS)
Crash Bandicoot 2 (PS)
Crash Bandicoot 3: WARPED (PS)
CTR: Crash Team Racing (PS)
Crash Commando (PS3)
Echochrome II (PS3)
Everyday Shooter (PS3, PS Vita)
Gex: Enter the Gecko (PS)
Gotham City Impostors (PS3)
Jurassic Park: The Game – Episodes 1-4 (PS3)
Plants vs. Zombies (PS3)
Red Faction (PS2)
Red Faction 2 (PS2)
Red Faction: Battlegrounds (PS3)
Retro City Rampage (PS3, PS Vita)
Retro/Grade (PS3)
Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse: Episodes 1-5 (PS3)
Spyro the Dragon (PS)
Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage (PS)
Spyro: Year of the Dragon (PS)
Stuntman: Ignition (PS2)
Super Stardust HD (PS3)
Tales of Monkey Island: Episodes 1-5 (PS3)
Tokyo Jungle (PS3)
Urban Trial Freestyle (PS3, PS Vita)
When Vikings Attack (PS3, PS Vita)
World Gone Sour (PS3)

There’s a definite pattern with these sales, which offer a mix of retro 3D platformers, narrative-driven adventure games and multiplayer-focused action games, with a few wild cards thrown in here and there. If any of these strike your fancy, be sure to grab them before Monday, because they’ll likely never be this sharply discounted again!

Eggplante is continuing to provide your sale watch for PlayStation platforms and others.
