New Steve Jobs biopic begins filming

The official film adaptation of Steve Jobs (book by Walter Isaacson) is due out next year, and filming has commenced on the project.

Not to be confused with 2013’s Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher, Universal has revealed the cast of the film as well as its timeline.

Directed by Danny Boyle, Michael Fassbender will star as Steve Jobs and Seth Rogen will be helping the role of his counterpart Steve Wozniak. Other cast choices are Michael Stuhlbarg, Jeff Daniels, Adam Shapiro, and none other than Kate Winslet, each playing Apple employees.

Detailing Jobs’ professional as well as personal lives, the film will also have three actors playing Lisa Brennan-Jobs at various stages of her life. Peril Haney-Jardine, Ripley Sobo, and Makenzie Moss will all play the role of Brennan-Jobs.

Filming began, as one might expect, just as Apple did: in a garage in Los Altos, California. Filming wrapped on that area rather quickly and moved on to other parts of California.

Steve Jobs (tentative title) is due in theatres in 2016.
