Xenoblade Chronicles 2 officially releasing in the West this Holiday

After previously being confirmed to hit Japan before the end of this year, Nintendo formally announced during their digital E3 showcase today that anticipated Nintendo Switch RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will also release in the West before the end of 2017! The game appears to be targeting a Holiday 2017 release window in North America, but still has yet to receive a proper release date.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will tell a new story with similar gameplay mechanics as the previous Xenoblade Chronicles games. The game stars a new protagonist named Rex, who is searching for the fabled land of Elysium. This true sequel also appears to be unaffiliated with the Wii U’s previous Xenoblade Chronicles follow-up, Xenoblade Chronicles X, which now appears to be being treated as a more open-world-focused spin-off.
