For the first time, Rockstar Games has assigned Red Dead Redemption 2 an actual release date, as opposed to a release window along the lines of ‘spring 2018.’ However, with this news comes the disappointing realization that the game has once again been delayed, having been moved from said spring window to the always busy fall one.
While it’s disappointing that Red Dead Redemption 2 won’t be released until this autumn, at least it has a release date. It’s also comforting to know that the development team is taking the time it needs, instead of rushing things.
So, what is this magical fall date, on which we’ll hopefully be able to saddle up and return to the Wild West? That would be October 26th, 2018.
“We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018,” Rockstar confirmed. “We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
“We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it,” the company added.
Along with this launch update, Rockstar also tried to appease the disappointed with seven new screenshots, all of which are absolutely stunning.
Stay tuned for more information pertaining to Red Dead Redemption 2 as it develops further.
