People Can Fly talk world building in brand new Outriders developer diary

Outriders has been on the tip of many tongues, and at the front of many gamers’ minds since its recent reveal. After all, it’s the most recently announced high profile release, and is being developed by a studio with pedigree. That is, People Can Fly, who crafted the incredibly fun and more than slightly underrated shooter, Bulletstorm, as well as Gears of War: Judgment, which is also kind of under-appreciated in our eyes.

If you haven’t heard of this game before, you’re in luck. Outriders is a futuristic, sci-fi shooter, which blends gunplay with RPG elements. Why read my descriptions, though, when you can watch a developer diary that talks all about creating the new IP’s world? Especially when it offers up some badass concept art.

While we’re at it, here’s another trailer, which uses in-engine footage to show off the beautiful but dangerous new world of Enoch.

We can’t wait to get our hands on Outriders, but will apparently have to be patient until next holiday season. It’s in the works for current (PS4, Xbox One) and next-gen (Xbox Series X, PS5) consoles, as well as PC.
