Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla promises a second year of content

A new Assassin’s Creed game will not release next fall, nor anytime soon it seems. Fans of the long-running historical adventure series shouldn’t be dismayed, though, because, for the first time in series history, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has been given a second year of bonus content.

Revealed during today’s Ubisoft E3 2021 livestream, this second year of content will include free events, the much anticipated one-handed sword and more. Valhalla is also expected to receive its second narrative expansion, The Siege of Paris, this summer.

This fall, those with interest will also be able to partake in the Discovery Tour: Viking Age for free. It follows on the footsteps of Discovery Tour: Ancient Egypt and Discovery Tour: Ancient Greece, both of which taught players world history through landmarks featured in both Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

Lastly, the UbiForward event closed on an enigmatic image of a mysterious portal set in a dramatic landscape. This suggests that Eivor’s journey is not over. Fans will have to stay tuned and keep their eyes and ears open for more information as the days and months progress.
