Ravenlok will bring its colourful adventure to Xbox and PC next month

In early May, Xbox users and Game Pass subscribers will be able to go on an ‘epic fantasy adventure’ in Ravenlok; a game that mixes real-time combat with an Alice in Wonderland meets The Legend of Zelda style experience. The game was detailed today, and it’s looking quite intriguing.

Ravenlok centres upon a young girl named Kira, who stumbles into a fantasy world after moving to an old house in the country with her family. There, she finds herself a heroine who must “save the fallen Realm of Dunia from the clutches of a tyrannical queen.” This will be accomplished through the aforementioned real-time combat, as well as completing puzzles and quests. Of course, there’ll also be treasure to find and collect.

Here are a couple of lines we borrowed from its press release, which help describe it:

“Upon encountering a mystical mirror, Ravenlok is whisked away to a whimsical world plagued by the sinister darkness of a tyrannical queen. Destiny awaits all in an unforgettable and heartfelt adventure.”

“Battles against fearsome beasts and formidable monsters using real-time combat. Wield your sword and shield, and use the magical skills bestowed to you, along with an arsenal of bombs, to vanquish foes in epic boss encounters!”

Ravenlok has been developed by Toronto’s Cococucumber, which previously brought Echo Generation to Xbox, Game Pass and PC. It’s scheduled to release on May 4th, and will be a day one Game Pass release like its predecessor. Expect 4K at 60 frames-per-second, through a game that’s said to have been optimized for Series X.
