Rainbow Six Tactics unveiled at gamescom Opening Night

Ubisoft unveiled a new take on the Rainbow Six formula during Opening Night of gamescom. They call it Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics, and it’s as described by its title: a single player, turn-based, tactical game set in that universe.

  • Features fifteen operators from Siege
  • Command a unit of four
  • Step into the role of Six; a commander of the Rainbow Unit
  • High stakes assignments that begin as training but end up in the field
  • Plan, coordinate breaches and adapt to what happens
  • Takes place during Siege’s timeline, as a new global threat emerges
  • Assume intelligence, assign operators, upgrade one’s base of operations, and make the decisions that will shape each mission
  • Turn-based encounters force players to combine operator abilities, reconnaissance tools, gadgets and destructible environments to outmaneuver enemy forces
  • Return to HQ to review intel, train and improve
  • Each operator brings its own skills
  • Every mission brings something too, be it bomb disposal, hostage rescue, target elimination or something else
  • Breach technology allows for walls to be broken for better sightlines

Rainbow Six Tactics is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series, GeForce Now, and Blacknut. On PC, it will be available on Steam and Epic, and it will also be on Ubisoft Connect.
