In true 1990’s fashion, Nintendo has announced two new colours of their budget handheld console, the 2DS.
Dubbed Crystal Blue and Crystal Red, the consoles will bear the same $99 price tag as their usual black-accented counterparts when they launch on November 21.
Also launching that day is Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, and of course, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, though the latter title obviously won’t be compatible with the handheld.
With the Pokémon titles releasing on the same day, it’s odd that Nintendo didn’t offer a bundle and call the colours Ruby and Sapphire edition consoles, but perhaps they don’t feel like releasing yet another console tied to the series. You know, after this one, and this one, and this one. Or this one. And this one. Oh, and also this one.
