CVR 2017 coming to Vancouver May 5th-7th

The Virtual and Augmented Reality community will descend on Vancouver from May 5th through the 7th as Archiact announces CVR 2017.

In the past decade, Canada has become more of a hotspot for gaming and other entertainment media. Just in the past ten years, we’ve seen Ubisoft open new offices in Toronto, a huge increase in the attendance at FanExpo Toronto, a new chapter of FanExpo open in Vancouver, and the Canadian Video Game Awards become a bigger and bigger part of the Canadian gaming scene.

Add another expo to this list as Archiact, a virtual and augmented reality studio based in Vancouver, has announced that it will hold CVR 2017 in Vancouver on May 5th to 7th. The show which returns to Vancouver this year, will “showcase a world-class selection of top industry experts, the latest technologies, and hands-on demonstrations of the latest products.  The event will be open to industry professionals on Friday and the general public for two days over the weekend.”

Anne-Marie Enns, Executive Producer of CVR says her team is “excited to bring back CVR to Vancouver for another fantastic virtual reality show,” noting that it is meant to be “a collection of the best and the brightest products in virtual, augmented and mixed reality – all under one roof.”

The show is sponsored by BCLC, Creative BC, VEC, YDeams, and Cloudhead Games, as well as Microsoft, who recently made a play into the Virtual Reality market with their soon-to-market Project Scorpio, said to have VR capabilities out of the box.

CVR 2017 will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre and run May 5th through 7th, 2017.
