During today’s PlayStation Showcase, Sony gave us a look at one of its most anticipated titles. In doing so, they released the first true trailer for God of War: Ragnarok.
This sequel, which is set several years after the events of the first game, will once again centre upon Kratos and Atreus, as they continue their quest in Midgard. Along the way, the father and son duo will come up against both Freya and Thor, who are seeking revenge for their prior losses. The result will be a game with visceral combat, which will feature more player choice and a new, Runic Summon, ability for Atreus. Those things, plus impressive new locations and a greater variety of enemy types.
“Whether it’s through hard hitting combos, a mastery of elements, or clever defensive tactics – you will find plenty of opportunity to fight alongside our duo in a way that feels uniquely expressive,” reads the latest PS Blog post on the game. :The realms have grown harsher, and a whole host of new creatures from across Norse mythology will test your skills.”
