Nintendo Direct Recap [6.9.26]

After a nine month wait, Nintendo delivered a new Direct presentation today, providing us with a look at some of what’s coming. In case you missed it, here’s a recap of what was shared and announced:

  • Rhythm Heaven Groove will bring its 80, rhythm challenging, mini games to Nintendo Switch on July 2nd.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
  • Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and will do so on September 25th.
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen was announced for Nintendo Switch 2, and will come bearing new content in the form of another region to explore.
  • Shift Up’s visceral action game, Stellar Blade, is en route to Nintendo Switch 2.
  • The unique, retro anime co-op game, Orbitals, will be released for Switch 2 on September 3rd.
  • The remake of Rayman Legends, that being Rayman Legends: Retold, will launch onto Switch 2 on October 1st.
  • Work with others to get around obstacles and solve puzzles in the unique ‘walker-talker’ game from the folks behind Untitled Goose Game. Big Walk will be out on August 4th, for Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Build a floating restaurant with the Straw Hat Crew, in One Piece: Grand Gourmet. This anime cooking game is coming to both Switches on October 23rd.
  • Pokemon Pokopia is getting DLC. It added an expansion pass, and part one (Bubbly Basin) is planned to release in August. A free update will also add a dive ability.
  • Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will bring more strategy to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17th.
  • Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet is the first half of a two part experience. It’ll bring its ninja moves to Switch 2 in 2027.
  • For a limited time, players can take on different challenges in Donkey Kong games (including Bananza), using Nintendo Switch Online. This ends at midnight Pacific Standard Time on September 1st.
  • Aspyr has brought Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration to Nintendo Switch 2. It will feature all DLC. It’s $29.99, with an exclusive launch discount and a discount for those who own the remasters of the earlier games.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivation is “an intense survival royale, where 8 players compete,” and it’s coming later this year. It’s being developed by the creators of Vampire Survivors and Shueisha games. This one will be playable on both Switch consoles.
  • Soulslike Lords of the Fallen II will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 this fall.
  • Lies of P: Complete Edition will bring that Soulslike to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 6th.
  • Capcom is bringing Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition to Nintendo Switch 2 on the 23rd of June.
  • Behold the legend of the Demon Blades in the side scrolling RPG, Muramasa: Revenant Blades. It’ll be released for both consoles in 2027.
  • The digital Nintendo Switch 2 versions of the first three Xenoblade Chronicles games were confirmed and dated. Xenoblade Chronicles is out today, with its upgrade pack, and a physical edition will be out July 30th. The digital edition of the 2nd game will be out July 30th, and the 3rd game will be out December 3rd.
  • Xenoblade: Genesis will be a new beginning for the franchise, and it’ll be out for Nintendo Switch 2 next year.
  • Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will offer twelve different sports on Wuhu Island, when it comes to Switch 2 on October 12th.
  • RuneScape: Dragonwilds is confirmed to be releasing for Switch 2 on September 15th, but we already knew that.
  • Play with friends, locally or online, in Hello Kitty Party Land. It’ll bring its collection of cute mini games to both consoles on October 29th.
  • Star Fox — the recently announced remake of Star Fox 64 — got a release date, with that being the 25th of June for Switch 2.
  • Final Fantasy Resonance puts forth the idea of what classic Final Fantasy would have looked like if it had kept evolving in 2D. It mixes 2D artwork with dynamic camera angles, in an HD-2D style. It’ll feature turn-based battles, and enemies from across the series. It’ll be out on the 22nd of October, for Switch 2.
  • Pikuniku — the long awaited sequel — is finally coming out next year, for Switch 2.
  • The monsters will take centre stage, when Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World comes to both Switch/Switch 2 on December 3rd.
  • The Duskbloods — the next game from FromSoftware — is a PvPvE experience. As a Bloodsworn, players must take on a world full of enemies, using unique weapons and abilities, while occasionally forming transient alliances. This is coming to Switch 2 this year.
  • Hunt for treasure in the single player Splatoon spinoff, Splatoon Raiders, which is set to release on July 23rd for Switch 2.
  • Fight or spare your way through action packed battles with an endearing cast of characters, when Deltarune Chapter 5 comes to both consoles on June 24th.
  • Enter the royal tournament when Metaphor: ReFantazio comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12th.
  • Minecraft will come to Nintendo Switch 2 with a new Vibrant Visuals update.
  • Reawaken the past, savour the present and use alchemy in Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & The Guide of Memories. It’s coming out in 2027.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will bring its large scale battles and visceral combat to Nintendo Switch 2 later this Holiday. It’ll feature both the single player and multiplayer modes.
  • The Nintendo Switch version of Observer: Redux will let players experience the classic game in handheld or docked mode, and will support the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-con 2, mouse and keyboard and optional motion control capabilities. The release date for this one is June 18th.
  • Survive in a zombie filled post-apocalyptic world when DayZ comes to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
  • The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is coming to Nintendo on the 27th of August.
  • Tales of Eternia: Remastered will be available for both consoles on October 16th.
  • SnowRunner is now available for Nintendo Switch 2, offering a free upgrade for Digital Edition owners, save transferring, 4 player co-op, mod support and all DLC. It has enhanced visuals and will get cross play support soon.
  • Final Fantasy IV Online will bring the MMO to both consoles via Early Access in August.
  • Everbloom is a cozy, open world, farming simulator and it’s coming to Nintendo in the Spring of 2027.
  • Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will bring fitness to the console on the 16th of July.
  • Join Sora, Goofy and friends in Kingdom Hearts Collection [1-3] when it comes to Switch 2 on October 8th.
  • Kingdom Hearts 4 was briefly shown, but it doesn’t have a release date yet. It’s coming to Switch 2 at launch.
