Once again the rumours were true, as Microsoft’s just concluded press conference gave us our first official look at Deck Nine’s Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Billed as a three-episode prequel, it is scheduled to debut at the end of August.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm will put us in the shoes of Chloe, the rebel stoner whose life we saved in the original game. Through her eyes, we will seemingly experience her trouble life (including the loss of her beloved father), as well as the drama surrounding Rachel, whose disappearance spurred the mystery at the heart of the first Life is Strange.
As a big fan of what Square Enix and DONTNOD accomplished the first time around, I’m excited to get my hands on this prequel at the end of the summer. Life is Strange is one of my favourite games of this generation, and I’m hoping that Before the Storm will be just as endearing.
