Sony kicks off 2014 with big Vita, PS3 sales

The Wolf Among Us - Promo ArtPlayStation gamers, get ready to save big for the New Year!

Along with one of last year’s top PS3 games, BioShock Infinite now being free for PlayStation Plus members, Sony has also begun the 14 for ’14 Sale, similar to the 13 for ’13 Sale they spearheaded last year to ring in the New Year. The sale will span across both PS3 and Vita, offering discounts for regular PlayStation Network members on PlayStation Store game downloads, while slashing prices even further for PlayStation Plus members.

We’ve got the rundown of which games will go on sale and for how much, along with their aggregate review scores according to gamerankings.com, obviously calculated specifically from the respective PlayStation edition for multiplatform games. We’ll list the regular members’ discount price on the left, and the PlayStation Plus membership discount price on the right, leaving our personal stamp of recommendation on the games we feel are most worth gamers’ attention. Given that many of these discounted games are among the best PS3 and Vita releases of last year however, you’ll probably find your budget a little bit strained with all of these great savings to be had on excellent games!

Be advised as well that PlayStation Store hit, Proteus, a cross-buy game playable on both PS3 and Vita, will be discounted too, though is apparently not part of the actual 14 for ’14 Sale. That would have amounted to fifteen games discounted, and we’ll likely get that number next year if tradition keeps.

Anyhow, both the PS3 and Vita will have fourteen games each discounted, totalling twenty-eight games in all, not counting Proteus.

PlayStation Plus members in particular are being offered many gems for dirt cheap, so if you missed out on these acclaimed games before, now is most certainly the time to add them to your PS3 and Vita collections!
